Nature-based Solutions Factsheets

To help practitioners identify the suite of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) that may meet their water security and biodiversity objectives, this page hosts links to factsheets for common NbS used in watershed investment programs (Figure 1).

Factsheets cover water security challenges, co-benefits, costs, and risks associated with the featured NbS. Though the selected NbS for water security (NbS-WS) are widely different, an important commonality is the dependence of their key properties on the local context. The factsheets are therefore not suitable to be directly applied to any specific project, but they should be interpreted as a preliminary indication of aspects to consider when contemplating a certain NbS-WS.

An accompanying Introduction to the NbS Factsheets  is included to help teams interpret the information contained therein.
